Brian Eno Urges Support to Send Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The project seeks to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The track was produced in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the performance was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The diverse array of musicians featured on Lullaby includes a range of acclaimed names from the scene. All participated in the September show, which managed to collect a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of music creators. The song showcases a combination of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The group managing the project have emphasized that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These resources will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a figure commented. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of infrastructure said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a couple of million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is above all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The song is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
