Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a former number one, has endured a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his maiden championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface after spring of 2023.
The win also signifies he has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted commentators to question if his ability to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to create a decider.
The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
