Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, however will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
