Liverpool's Star Issues Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Salah apologised to the team after the fallout from his public comments.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a European match following making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the team's response stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” Jones added.
He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I get that there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the games following the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were never meant to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
