The role has the ability to morph into an perfect replica of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that role reinterpreted as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the source material and anime.
This performer joins a number of recently announced actors set to bring Baroque Works to life, including chief Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Even though Bon Clay is a important part of Baroque Works, the persona will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Considering the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this represents a significant shift in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could signal additional alterations to the story’s structure.
Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the character. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.
Netflix's live-action One Piece series is due to premiere for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
